Overview

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) syringe filters are widely used in HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS, and laboratory sample preparation because of their excellent chemical resistance and broad solvent compatibility.

However, not all PTFE membranes behave the same way when filtering aqueous samples. Understanding the difference between standard hydrophobic PTFE and hydrophilic PTFE membranes can help improve filtration performance and reduce sample preparation time.


Standard PTFE Syringe Filters

Standard PTFE membranes are naturally hydrophobic.

This hydrophobic nature makes them highly compatible with:
